The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, has announced the 2026 Official Freshers’ Orientation Programme, set to hold from Wednesday, 12th February to Thursday, 13th February 2026 at the University Convocation Square (Suleiman Kumo), Gidan Kwano Campus.

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, has announced the 2026 Official Freshers’ Orientation Programme, set to hold from Wednesday, 12th February to Thursday, 13th February 2026 at the University Convocation Square (Suleiman Kumo), Gidan Kwano Campus.

Activities will commence daily at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

Day One: Plenary Session Highlights

The first day will feature a structured programme aimed at welcoming and guiding newly admitted students into university life. Activities include:

  • University anthem
  • Introduction of principal officers and members of the high table
  • Welcome and official addresses
  • Remarks by the Dean of Student Affairs
  • Remarks by the Student Union President
  • Address by the Vice-Chancellor
  • Vote of thanks
  • Academic and school orientation sessions led by faculty deans
  • Interactive Q&A session
  • Interlude and refreshments

The orientation is coordinated by Professor Bashir O. Ganiyu, Dean of Student Affairs, with the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, serving as Chief Host.

The programme is designed to familiarize fresh students with academic expectations, university culture, and available support systems, while providing an opportunity for engagement with university leadership and faculty representatives.
