GIZ-SKYE Programme Strengthens Partnership with FUNAAB

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), hosted a high-powered delegation from the Skills Development for Youth Employment (SKYE) Programme, an initiative of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The visit aimed to deepen ties on employability, entrepreneurship, and career advancement for students.

The university's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, emphasized the need to bridge the gap between academic excellence and workplace readiness. He highlighted the university's productive partnership with GIZ and the creation of the Career Services and Linkages Unit (CSLU) and the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS).

A proposal for a University-wide Career Fair was unveiled, aiming to leverage GIZ's network for internships and job placements. The GIZ-SKYE team expressed optimism about the synergy between GIZ and FUNAAB, pledging continued collaboration to enhance career prospects for young Nigerians.
