Godfrey Okoye University Celebrates Global Recognition of Dr. Henrietta N. Ukwu

Godfrey Okoye University (GOUNI) proudly honors Dr. Henrietta N. Ukwu on her induction into the prestigious Marquis Who’s Who Biographical Registry, marking a milestone of global recognition for one of Nigeria’s foremost medical professionals.

Dr. Ukwu’s remarkable journey, from her early medical studies in Nigeria to her current role as Executive Vice President and Chief Regulatory Officer at Novavax Inc., exemplifies vision, discipline, and dedication to humanity. She has played pivotal roles in global health, including leading the FDA approval of Crixivan, a breakthrough HIV/AIDS drug, and significantly contributing to the Emergency Use Authorization of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine during the pandemic. Over her career, she has overseen the approval of more than 30 drugs and biologics while holding leadership positions at top pharmaceutical companies including Merck, Pfizer, and Otsuka.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Ukwu maintains strong ties to her Nigerian roots. Through family-led philanthropic initiatives, she has improved access to clean water, installed solar street lighting, and upgraded infrastructure in her home community. She has also expressed a personal commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s public health system, reflecting her lifelong dedication to service.
