The Gombe State University (GSU) community is in mourning following the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Asma’u, a dedicated student of the Department of Biotechnology.

The news has sent shockwaves through the student body, particularly among those who worked closely with her in student leadership and academic circles. Known affectionately by many as "Mami," she is being remembered as a "strong pillar of support" and a guiding light for her peers.

In a moving tribute, a former President of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) expressed deep shock at the loss, highlighting Asma’u’s vital role in the success of the student government during their tenure.
