Gombe State University Partners with GoHealth to Launch Tertiary Institution Students' Health Insurance Programme

Gombe State University (GSU) has taken a significant step towards enhancing healthcare accessibility for its students by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GoHealth).

This partnership aims to implement the Tertiary Institution Students' Health Insurance Programme (TSHIP), ensuring affordable and quality healthcare services for GSU students.

The MoU signing ceremony, held on February 3, 2025, was attended by key university officials, including the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, and the Team Lead of GoHealth, Dr. Abubakar Musa. Dr. Musa emphasized GoHealth's commitment to providing accessible and high-quality healthcare for students, highlighting the TSHIP initiative's goal of strengthening the university's medical ecosystem.

With this partnership, GSU students will soon begin enrollment in the TSHIP scheme, guaranteeing improved access to affordable healthcare services and contributing to their overall well-being. The university has expressed its readiness to ensure the programme's success, and GoHealth has urged the university to constitute a TSHIP Committee to facilitate the smooth implementation of the programme .
