Governor Fintiri Reaffirms Support for MAU Yola as University Management Pays Courtesy Visit
The Vice-Chancellor of Modibbo University, Yola Prof. Ibrahim Umar, has led the university’s management team on a courtesy visit to the Government House to express appreciation to the Executive Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON, for his support to the institution.
The visit, was aimed at thanking the Governor for personally attending the university’s combined 29th and 30th convocation ceremony, as well as for pledging to construct 5 kilometres of road within the university.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Ibrahim Umar commended the Governor for honouring the convocation ceremony with his presence, noting that it attracted an unprecedented turnout.
According to him, the event witnessed the attendance of royal fathers from across the state, making it one of the most successful convocation ceremonies in the history of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor, further appreciated the Governor for his tireless efforts, numerous interventions, and continuous financial and non-financial contributions towards the growth and development of the university.
In his response, H.E. Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the management team for the visit and for acknowledging his administration’s efforts.
He described his support as part of his responsibility as Governor of the State and reaffirmed his commitment in developing educational institutions and other sectors within the state.
The Governor also reassured the university management of his commitment to fulfilling the pledge of constructing internal roads within the institution which will commence soon.
The highlight of the Government House visit, was the taking of a group photograph by members of the university management with the Governor and exchanging of pleasantries.
In a related development, the Vice-Chancellor, on his way back from the Government House, made an unscheduled visit to the University Secondary School to inspect the ongoing massive renovation project at the school.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor and the management team went round the school facilities to assess the level and quality of work being carried out.
The renovation project, which covers major structures within the school, is described as one of the most extensive upgrades the University Secondary School has witnessed in recent times.
