Governor Okpebholo Boosts Edo State University with ₦2bn Grant and 4 New Buses

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged N2 billion to support infrastructural development at Edo State University, Iyamho, in recognition of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Victor O. Adetimirin's dedication to the institution.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Ehi-Agenmonmen Business Administration E-Library and ground-breaking ceremony for a State-of-the-Art Health Centre and Ultra-modern Fitness Centre.

Okpebholo also donated two Toyota Hiace buses and two CNG buses to the university, citing the VC's gesture of donating his first month's salary towards the health centre as inspiration. The governor praised the VC's commitment to educational development and assured the academic community of sustained government support.

Former Governor Adams Oshiomhole commended Okpebholo's commitment to education, noting significant interventions across institutions in the state. Prof. Adetimirin expressed gratitude for the governor's support, highlighting increased subvention and provision of vehicles for official duties. He reaffirmed his commitment to making the university a world-class institution.
