IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES NOT YET ADMITTED
Commencement of 2026/2027 Admission Exercise and Activation of the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS)
Candidates seeking admission into Ignatius Ajuru University of Education for the 2026/2027 academic session are informed that the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) has been activated for the admission exercise.
This means that candidates can now closely monitor their admission status and know when they have been offered admission.
Candidates are therefore advised to regularly monitor their admission status on JAMB CAPS and take the necessary steps as soon as possible.
To monitor your admission through CAPS, candidates should follow these five important steps:
- VERIFY YOUR O’LEVEL UPLOAD:
a. Log in to your JAMB profile through .
b. Click on “Check Admission Status.”
c. Click on “Access my CAPS.”
d. Click on “My O’level Result” to confirm whether your O’Level result has been uploaded.
If the result has not been uploaded, candidates should visit any nearby accredited JAMB CBT centre or the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education ICT centre to upload their O’Level result.
Admission cannot be processed for candidates whose O’Level status on CAPS indicates “Awaiting Result.”
- KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED ADMISSION:
After following the instructions above, click on “Admission Status” to monitor your admission.
This will enable candidates to know when they have been recommended for admission or when their admission has been approved by JAMB.
If a candidate is recommended for admission and the admission is approved by JAMB, the candidate can proceed to accept the admission, print the admission letter and follow the university’s directives for clearance.
Details concerning clearance will be released on the university website and other official communication channels.
- APPROVAL OF TRANSFER OF PROGRAMME: 2026/2027
In line with the CAPS implementation policy, the university may consider some candidates for transfer from their chosen programme to another programme based on their UTME and O’Level subject combinations.
Candidates are therefore expected to continue monitoring their admission after following instructions 1–3 above by clicking the “Transfer Approval” link to determine whether they have been recommended for transfer to another programme.
Candidates are required to either accept or reject the transfer consideration.
If a candidate accepts the transfer, the first-choice institution will be able to admit the candidate into the new programme.
If the candidate rejects the transfer, the candidate will remain in the preferred course/programme and the programme transfer will not be effected.
- CANDIDATES WITH AWAITING RESULT:
UTME candidates with O’Level results marked as awaiting result should upload their results on the JAMB portal and university portal respectively.
Direct Entry candidates, including JUPEB students, should also upload their A’Level and O’Level results to avoid disqualification.
This is necessary to enable the university’s screening officers to determine candidates’ qualifications for admission.
