IBBUL Alumni recognises Varsity Don, as VC showers Encomiums

The Vice Chancellor, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu has commended the Director, Institute of Continuing Education and  e-Learning (ICEeL) of the University, Professor  Ango Nuhu Aliyu for maintaining standard and quality in the institute and called for more dedication to work from staff.

Professor  Adamu gave the commendation during an award of excellence presented to the Director of the Institute organized by some ex-students of ICEel at the University Management Meeting Room.

He said the Director was recognized with similar award in 2022 by the University as a result of outstanding commitment and commendable academic efforts; adding that the award by the Alumni of the Institute was a confirmation of Professor Ango's unfettered dedication to duties. 

The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that the awardee remains among few dependable intellectuals in the University who is always ready to accomplish any task assigned without any compromise.

While urging other Directors in the University to emulate Professor Ango Nuhu Aliyu, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the students for identifying with the professor and the Management for the prestigious award. 

It would be recalled that Professor Ango won the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences productivity award in 2022.

Presenting the award to Professor Aliyu, Leader of the ex-students, Mr. Benjamin Arinze, described the awardee as a phenomenal leader, a game changer and a shock absorber of the Institute, who has represented the institution deligently. 

He also disclosed that Professor Aliyu has helped to rebuild the mind of students towards greatness, and prayed that the sky would be his starting point.

Mr. Arinze also appreciated the Management for the support given to the institute and the confidence reposed in the Director as well. 

In his acceptance remarks, the recipient, Professor Ango Nuhu Aliyu said he was overwhelmed by the recognition accorded by his students, stressing that, though he never expected the award, he believed that he has done something good to be so awarded. 

He added that as the Director of ICEeL, he was ready to apply the laws of the University to ensure that the quality and standard of the institute is maintained; pointing out that conscious care is taken so that his love, passion and concerns for the students is not in any way affected.

The Director maintained that without the students there would not be the  Institute, adding that as an obligation, he ensured that he instilled discipline in the mind of the students. 

Professor Ango  appreciated the students for finding him worthy for the award, and the Management for  support and he promised to do more.

In their goodwill messages, the Director Quality Assurance, Professor, Ebenezer Ogunbe and the Director SERVICOM, Professor Musa Amanabo congratulated the recipient of the award, stating that it is well deserved and that he is one of the most reliable Directors in the University.

They also testified that whenever there was examination at the Institute, the Director was always around to the end to ensure that everything went smoothly. 

They also appreciated the Vice Chancellor for giving the awardee the necessary support to excel.

In a vote of thanks, the  Registrar, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki Commended the ex-students for  the award to the Director of the Institute, saying that the Director has carved a nitch for himself as a hardworking person who has the ability and capacity to work with his team members in order to succeed. 

He added that since his  appointment as the Director of the Institute, the University has been receiving good testimonies and urged him to keep it up.

He noted that the Institute was one of the best and that Management would continue to support it.

Alhaji Kusherki also prayed  God to guide and protect the awardee, and called on others to emulate him.
