The Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, FNIPR, has embarked on a working visit to the university’s Chinwoke Mbadinuju Uli Campus to assess ongoing projects, inspect completed infrastructure and evaluate developments across the campus.

The visit, which took place on Tuesday, October 28, 2026, attracted a warm reception from staff and students, providing an opportunity for the Vice-Chancellor to appreciate the infrastructural changes taking place at the campus.
Expressing satisfaction with the campus's renewed outlook, Professor Omenugha acknowledged the improvements to the entrance gate, internal road network and other ongoing projects. She particularly commended the Anambra State Governor and Visitor to the university, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for completing the approximately 4-kilometre campus road project awarded by his administration.
In an impromptu expression of appreciation, the excited Vice-Chancellor broke into a song in honour of the governor, with staff and students enthusiastically joining her in singing: “Omalicha Governor, ihe i na-eme, ọ bụ ya nyere gị aha.”
She also thanked the governor for his commitment to developing the Uli Campus, recalling his promise to do everything within his capacity to make it one of the best university campuses in Nigeria.

A major highlight of the visit was the inspection of the university's Science Laboratory project, which had remained abandoned for 14 years before Professor Omenugha's administration revived it through a Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) allocation. The project is now receiving renewed attention and is expected to be completed and commissioned soon.
The Vice-Chancellor also inspected other ongoing and proposed infrastructural projects, including the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) building, the Education Trust Fund (ETF) building and a large student hostel project designed to improve accommodation for students.
She equally visited various faculties to assess their facilities and activities.
During her interaction with students, Professor Omenugha met with those attending lectures and participating in academic activities. Drawing on her experience as an educationist and teacher, she encouraged them to remain focused, take their studies seriously and make their parents proud.
She reminded the students that their primary responsibility on campus was to pursue academic excellence and maximise the educational opportunities available to them.

The visit, which was characterised by excitement and goodwill among members of the university community, highlighted the ongoing infrastructural development at the Chinwoke Mbadinuju Uli Campus and the administration's commitment to improving learning environments and advancing institutional growth.
The developments also reflect Professor Omenugha's 3Vs mantra of Values, Viability and Visibility as COOU continues its pursuit of becoming the Now University and of the Future.
