Kaduna State University (KASU) is celebrating a significant milestone as one of its students, Khalipha Abdulkadir Haruna, has been declared the winner of the Kaduna Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Naming Competition.

The competition, organized by the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Authority (KADSTRA), sought a creative and symbolic name for the state’s landmark transport project. Khalipha’s winning entry, “Kaduna Connect,” was selected for its resonance with the themes of unity, mobility, and regional progress.

In recognition of his intellectual contribution, Khalipha was presented with a commemorative plaque at the KADSTRA Headquarters. Representing the University at the official ceremony was the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor M.K. Dauda.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that Khalipha’s success serves as a testament to the calibre of students at KASU, who are increasingly shaping ideas that have a direct impact on societal development and urban infrastructure.

“This achievement is a proud moment for the entire KASU community,” Professor Musa stated. “It demonstrates that our students are not only excelling academically but are also active contributors to the strategic growth of Kaduna State.”

The "Kaduna Connect" branding is expected to become a staple of the city's identity as the BRT system rolls out to improve public transportation for thousands of residents.
