KHAIRUN Library Advances Digital Librarianship at 2026 Second Quarter Training Workshop

The University Library of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano, continued its 2026 second quarter three-day staff training workshop on the second day with sessions designed to deepen participants’ knowledge of digital librarianship and repository management.

The day focused on E-Library Management and D-Space Management of Digital Repository. The first session, facilitated by Dr. Usman Ahmed of Kaduna State University, covered Managing Digital Library Services and Resources, with emphasis on the effective management of digital services and electronic resources in library operations.

The second session featured by the Head of E-Library and Repository Manager, ABU Zaria, Dr. Aminu Musa who handled the session on Management of D-Space Repository. The session exposed participants to practical approaches for managing institutional repositories and preserving scholarly materials for wider access.

The activities provided participants with useful insights into modern digital library practices and strengthened their understanding of emerging tools for efficient service delivery.

The workshop will conclude with the third day’s sessions on professional ethics, codes of conduct, and best practices in library circulation services.
