The Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University has recorded a major academic milestone following the approval of full accreditation for three of its computing-related programmes by the National Universities Commission.
The accreditation, contained in an official communication dated April 7, 2026, followed the October/November 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the commission across Nigerian universities.
The programmes granted full accreditation status are Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Software Engineering.
According to the university management, the accreditation confirms that the programmes satisfied the NUC’s minimum academic standards in key areas including curriculum quality, staffing strength, infrastructure, learning facilities, and academic delivery systems.
The approved status will remain valid for five years, in line with the commission’s accreditation framework.

Reacting to the development, the university described the approval as a significant boost to its growing reputation in technology and innovation-focused education.
Management of the institution expressed appreciation to the Proprietor, Governing Council, Vice-Chancellor, staff, students, and stakeholders for their contributions toward achieving the milestone.
The university stated that the accreditation reinforces its commitment to producing highly skilled graduates capable of meeting the demands of Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital and technology sectors.
KHAIRUN further assured parents, students, and the public of its continued focus on academic quality, research development, and the expansion of globally relevant programmes designed to support national growth and technological advancement.
