KHAIRUN, Skyline University Nigeria Move to Deepen Academic Collaboration Through Proposed MoU

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) has initiated moves to strengthen institutional collaboration with Skyline University Nigeria, following a courtesy visit led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on Monday, 1st June 2026.

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) has initiated moves to strengthen institutional collaboration with Skyline University Nigeria, following a courtesy visit led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on Monday, 1st June 2026.

The delegation, which comprised principal officers and management staff of KHAIRUN, was received by Skyline University Nigeria’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajith Kumar V.V., alongside members of the university’s management team.

During the engagement, Prof. Kumar welcomed the visiting team and outlined Skyline University’s academic trajectory, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in teaching, innovation, and community development. He stressed the growing importance of inter-university partnerships and advocated structured collaboration in research, teaching, academic resource sharing, staff development, and community engagement. He also proposed the formalisation of the relationship through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In his response, Prof. Garba described Skyline University Nigeria as a pioneering private institution whose development trajectory offers practical lessons for emerging universities. He commended its role in shaping the private higher education landscape in Kano State and expressed appreciation for the openness to collaboration.

He further outlined KHAIRUN’s institutional progress and strategic aspirations, reiterating the university’s commitment to building partnerships that enhance academic quality, research output, and broader societal impact.

A key outcome of the visit was the establishment of a joint committee drawn from both institutions. The committee has been tasked with developing a framework for the proposed MoU and identifying priority areas for cooperation, including joint academic programmes and institutional capacity development.
