KHAIRUN VC Leads Delegation on Courtesy Visit to Skyline University Nigeria
In the spirit of institutional goodwill, partnership, and mutual cooperation, the Vice-Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, on Monday, 1st June 2026, led a delegation of principal officers and management staff on a courtesy visit to Skyline University Nigeria, Kano.
The KHAIRUN delegation was warmly received by the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University Nigeria, Prof. Ajith Kumar V.V., alongside members of the University's management team.
In his welcome address, Prof. Kumar expressed delight at hosting the KHAIRUN delegation and thanked Prof. Garba and his team for the visit. He provided a brief history of Skyline University Nigeria and highlighted the institution's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community development.
The Skyline University Vice-Chancellor further emphasized the importance of collaboration among higher institutions, proposing partnerships in areas such as research, teaching, academic resource sharing, community service, staff development, and other mutually beneficial initiatives. He expressed Skyline University's readiness to work closely with KHAIRUN and recommended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize the partnership.

In his response, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Kumar and the Skyline University management for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions. He noted that Skyline University has established itself as a leading private university in Kano State and serves as a source of inspiration for emerging institutions.
Prof. Garba acknowledged Skyline University's pioneering role in shaping the private university landscape in the state, describing the institution as one whose experiences and achievements offer valuable lessons for younger universities. He thanked the leadership of Skyline University for creating a path that institutions such as KHAIRUN can learn from and benefit through shared knowledge, experience, and best practices.
Prof. Garba also gave a brief overview of the University's journey, achievements, and aspirations, while reaffirming the institution's commitment to building strategic partnerships that will enhance academic quality, research output, and societal impact.
A major outcome of the visit was the inauguration of a joint committee comprising representatives from both institutions to develop a framework for the proposed Memorandum of Understanding. The committee is expected to identify key areas of collaboration and facilitate the implementation of mutually beneficial programmes and activities.
The meeting also featured fruitful discussions on strategies for improving the quality of education in Kano State and beyond, with both institutions reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing higher education, promoting innovation, and contributing to national development.
