KWASU VC Commissions New 600 Bedspace Hostel

Kwara State University, Malete has taken another bold step in expanding on-campus accommodation, as the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, commissioned a new hostel block on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor assured parents and students that the University was committed to increasing on-campus housing, emphasizing that the new hostels are part of efforts to enhance students’ safety, welfare, and overall university experience.

The 600-bed facility was constructed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with Rangeman Construction Limited, a move the Vice-Chancellor described as a milestone in KWASU’s long-term infrastructure development agenda.

Chief Executive Officer of Rangeman Construction Limited, Otunba Kehinde Lateef, praised the University for fostering an investor-friendly environment. He pledged to deliver more hostels before the end of 2025/2026 academic session.

Also speaking, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Sheu Adua, noted that the newly commissioned hostels are a deliberate investment in the future of KWASU students as the institution remained committed to providing a safer, student-centered learning environment and improving campus life for its growing student community.
