KWASU Vice-Chancellor Mourns Passing of Governing Council Chairman, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali

The Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has described the death of the institution's Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali OON as a great loss to humanity.

Professor Jimoh noted that the late Council Chairman was a distinguished Nigerian who was straightforward in his dealings, highly cerebral, committed to the growth of KWASU and the larger Kwara community, and an exemplary administrator who led the Governing Council with wisdom and a true sense of commitment.

The Vice-Chancellor added that the demise of Professor Ambali would be greatly felt not just by the KWASU community but by many other institutions, communities, and people beyond Kwara State.

The KWASU Vice-Chancellor also commisserated with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON; the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari; the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union; the immediate and extended family; colleagues; and friends on the loss of such an illustrious personality.

Professor Jimoh prayed that Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, colleagues, and the KWASU community the fortitude to bear the loss.

The late Professor Ambali was appointed as the 4th KWASU Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council on January 24, 2024, by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON and was inaugurated on February 9, 2024. He was a former vice-chancellor of the University of Ilorin from 2012 to 2017, where he served with distinction.
