Lagos State University (LASU), Epe Campus, has elected Professor Kamilu Folorunsho Kayode Oyedeko as the new Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

Lagos State University (LASU), Epe Campus, has elected Professor Kamilu Folorunsho Kayode Oyedeko as the new Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

The election took place on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, during a Faculty of Engineering Board meeting at the Epe Campus. Professor Oyedeko, a distinguished scholar in the Department of Chemical Engineering, emerged unopposed, securing thirty-one (31) “Yes” votes out of thirty-two (32) cast by participating members.

According to the Faculty Officer and Returning Officer, Mr. Samuel T. Whesu, Professor Oyedeko was the sole nominee for the position, having been formally nominated by three members of the Faculty Board. Of the forty-seven (47) eligible voters, thirty-two (32) participated in the election.

The outgoing Dean, Professor Nurudeen A. Raji of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who is completing his second and final two-year term on 24 February 2026, congratulated the Dean-designate and wished him a successful tenure. Professor Oyedeko is scheduled to officially assume office on 25 February 2026.

The election ceremony concluded with group photographs to commemorate the historic moment in the Faculty of Engineering.
