The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has announced the commencement of its State of Origin Verification Exercise (SOVE) for the 2026/2027 admission process.

The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has announced the commencement of its State of Origin Verification Exercise (SOVE) for the 2026/2027 admission process.

According to the institution, the exercise is specifically for candidates of Lagos State origin who selected LASUSTECH as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and scored a minimum of 195. Direct Entry applicants of Lagos State origin are also eligible to participate.

The university stated that the online registration for the State of Origin Verification Exercise commenced on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and will close on Friday, June 12, 2026.

The verification interview is scheduled to hold from Wednesday, June 17, 2026, to Friday, June 19, 2026. Each applicant’s interview date will be clearly indicated on the application form after registration.

LASUSTECH emphasized that the State of Origin Verification Exercise does not guarantee admission or serve as proof of admission into the institution. However, eligible Lagos State indigenes are expected to be screened and cleared by the State of Origin Verification Committee (SOVC) before proceeding with the Post-UTME screening process.

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable verification fee of Ten Thousand Naira (₦10,000.00) only through the university’s official SOVE portal at: https://sove.lasustech.edu.ng

The university stressed that only candidates of Lagos State origin are eligible for the verification exercise.

Applicants were also warned against making payments to individuals, un

authorized accounts, or through unofficial channels, noting that any candidate who does so would be acting at their own risk.

Management further reiterated that only candidates who scored 195 and above in the 2026 UTME are qualified to participate in the exercise.
