LAUTECH Olusegun Oke Library Records Major Service Expansion, Supports Accreditation and Research in 2025

The Olusegun Oke Library of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has reported significant institutional contributions in 2025, marking a year of expanded academic support, improved digital access, and strengthened engagement with staff and students across the University.

The Olusegun Oke Library of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has reported significant institutional contributions in 2025, marking a year of expanded academic support, improved digital access, and strengthened engagement with staff and students across the University.

In a year-end statement issued by the University Librarian, Professor Adefunke Sarah Ebijuwa, CLN, MNLA, the Library highlighted its role as LAUTECH’s central academic information hub, supporting teaching, research, supervision, mentorship, and quality assurance processes across faculties and departments.

According to the statement, the LAUTECH Library provided access to over 10,000 digital and print academic resources during the year, strengthening research capacity and instructional delivery. In addition, more than 5,000 learning and research support interactions were recorded between library staff, students, and academic staff, reflecting increased engagement and reliance on library services.

The Library also expanded its digital infrastructure, improving online access to academic resources, virtual research support, and real-time user assistance. These upgrades enhanced service efficiency and widened access for both on-campus and remote users.

Professor Ebijuwa further disclosed that the Olusegun Oke Library played a critical role in supporting multiple accreditation exercises conducted at LAUTECH in 2025. The Library’s collections, documentation systems, and professional input contributed directly to meeting national regulatory and quality assurance standards, reinforcing the University’s academic standing.

Beyond academic services, the Library introduced community-focused initiatives aimed at strengthening student engagement and inclusion. Among these was the recognition of students’ birthdays—where data was available—as part of efforts to promote a supportive and student-centered academic environment.

Describing the year as one of collective progress, the University Librarian attributed the Library’s achievements to collaboration, trust, and sustained partnership with students, staff, and University management. She reaffirmed the Library’s commitment to innovation, service excellence, and continuous support for LAUTECH’s academic mission in the coming year.

Professor Ebijuwa noted that as LAUTECH prepares for 2026, the Olusegun Oke Library remains focused on consolidating its position as a cornerstone of learning, research, and institutional development within the University.
