McPherson University Visitor Charges New Students on "5Ds" for Academic Distinction

The General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria (FGCN) and Visitor to McPherson University, Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji, has advised students of the university to remain focused and purposeful in their academic pursuits. He gave the advice while addressing newly matriculated students of the institution.

 

In his remarks, Rev. Dr. Aboyeji outlined what he described as the “5Ds to distinction,” which he said are essential for success on campus. According to him, the 5Ds  are Desire, Diligence, Discipline, Determination, and Divine Help, noting that these values are necessary for students who aspire to excel academically and morally.

The Visitor explained that students must cultivate a strong desire to succeed and back it up with diligence and discipline in their studies. He added that determination would help them stay committed to their goals despite challenges, while divine help would provide guidance throughout their academic journey.

Rev. Dr. Aboyeji also urged the students to set clear goals and priorities, encouraging them to give their best to achieve their aspirations. He warned them not to joke with their time on campus, stressing that how they use their time would largely determine their success.

 

At the end of his remarks, the General Overseer offered prayers for the matriculating students, committing them to God’s care and asking for wisdom, protection, and excellence as they progress in their studies at McPherson University.
