McU Mgt Visits FUNAAB to Understudy Postgraduate School Administration

In a bid to strengthen its postgraduate framework and enhance institutional capacity, the Management of MacPherson University (McU), Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) to understudy the administrative structure of the University’s Postgraduate School.

The meeting, held at the Postgraduate School, FUNAAB, provided a platform for knowledge exchange between the two institutions, with discussions centered on postgraduate administration, quality assurance, and academic development.

Welcoming the delegation, the Dean, Postgraduate School, FUNAAB, Prof. Gboyega Adebayo, described the management of a postgraduate system as a taxing, yet rewarding responsibility that requires continuous learning and benchmarking with other successful institutions.

He commended the visiting team for choosing FUNAAB as a model, noting that the Ag. Dean of McU's College of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Michael Osho, is a proud alumnus of FUNAAB who obtained all his academic qualifications from the University, an attestation to the quality of FUNAAB’s postgraduate education.

In his remarks, Dr. Osho expressed appreciation to the Management of FUNAAB for the warm reception accorded the team, noting that the visit was aimed at gaining insights into the administrative modalities of running a functional postgraduate school.

According to him, “We are here to understand the mode of operation and engage in mutual learning that would enable us to identify areas of improvement for our own postgraduate programmes at MacPherson University.”

Other members of the delegation included Mrs. Olanike Adesida, Secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Emmanuel Awojeko, Sub-Dean, Postgraduate School; and Dr. Oyetunji Taiwo, Postgraduate Coordinator, Accounting and Finance Department, all from MacPherson University.
