Newly graduated medical doctors from Kogi State have expressed profound gratitude towards former Governor Yahaya Bello for his pivotal role in their education. The graduates, who faced the challenge of losing accreditation at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), were transferred to other institutions across Nigeria, thanks to Bello’s intervention.
The former governor’s support included full scholarships, covering tuition and transfer fees, ensuring that these future healthcare professionals could complete their training without financial burdens. The graduates were relocated to Ebonyi State University, Kaduna State University, and Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, where they successfully completed their medical education.
In a public letter, the graduates lauded Bello’s compassionate leadership, stating, “Your divine emergence as governor, swift intervention, and the decision to transfer us to other medical schools were not just acts of leadership but of compassion and commitment to Kogi State’s healthcare sector.”
