Meet Ilyas Usman Abdullahi, the President of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, ATBU

Ilyas Usman Abdullahi (USCO) is a 400-level student from the Department of Civil Engineering at ATBU.

He earned his Primary School Leaving Certificate, Secondary School Certificate, and O-level results from the prestigious HAYATUL ISLAM PRIVATE SCHOOL in Jos. Usman's educational experience has been equally impressive. He served as a Class rep during primary and as assistant head boy during his senior year.

In 2018, he secured admission into Civil Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi. He served as Assistant Secretary-General of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers - Students’ Affiliate (NICESA) ATBU chapter. Afterwards, he proceeded to become the President.

As the President of his departmental association, Usman has shown outstanding leadership skills and has been instrumental in driving various initiatives and projects within the department.

In addition to his leadership role within the school, Usman has grown beyond the boundaries of the campus. Currently, he serves as the National Financial Secretary (NICESA) and also serves as the Bauchi State Coordinator (NICESA).

His dedication and exceptional work have been recognized through various appointments to these bodies, which have allowed him to contribute to the wider community. Usman's passion for Civil Engineering and commitment to service make him a true leader within and outside ATBU.
