Minister of State for Education Launches Electric Tricycle Transport Scheme at BUK

The Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, officially launched a new campus transport initiative at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), on Friday, December 12, 2025.

The initiative, operating under the Federal Government’s "Renewed Hope Agenda," introduced 20 new electric tricycles to the university campus. The goal of the scheme is to address the transportation challenges faced by students while promoting a greener and more sustainable campus environment.

The project was awarded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) through the Ministry of Education as part of a national intervention program. Bayero University, Kano, was selected as one of the first beneficiaries among 12 tertiary institutions across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones chosen to implement the transport scheme.
