Modibbo Adama University Hosts NUC and TETFund Team for Resource Verification
A joint delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) recently visited Modibbo Adama University, Yola, for a resource verification exercise.
The team, led by Dr. Funmilayo Morebise and Mr. Sanusi Jaji, assessed the university's readiness to host postgraduate training programs under the TETFund-sponsored in-country scholarship scheme.
The team inspected key facilities, including the College of Postgraduate Studies, laboratories, postgraduate hostels, ICT and CBT centers, and the Chevron Laboratory. They expressed satisfaction with the university's level of readiness and provided positive feedback, encouraging the institution to harness its resources for commercial and innovative purposes alongside academic training.
The successful verification paves the way for Modibbo Adama University to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TETFund, enabling direct sponsorship of postgraduate students under the new in-country program. This partnership is expected to strengthen postgraduate research and training capacity within the university, contributing to national manpower development.
