Nasarawa State University Hosts 2024 International Youth Day

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in collaboration with the Women In Energy Oil & Gas (WEOG) on Thursday 22nd August, hosted the 2024 International Youth Day.

The event, which was held at the School of Postgraduate Studies auditorium was declared open by the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.

The 2024 International Youth Day, Youth Promoting Decade of Gas (YPDG) coincided with the first anniversary of the Minister of State Petroleum Resources Gas Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo in office had "Building Sustainable Futures: Leveraging Gas For National Development" The Role Of Youth & Women In Ensuring Sustainable Energy Transition in Nigeria as its theme for the year 2024.

Activities earmarked during the event included the inauguration of the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman as a member of the Women In Energy Oil & Gas Organization, cutting of the anniversary cake, raffle draw and gas cylinder distribution.

The Women In Energy Oil and Gas (WEOG) Nigeria is an industry network created to promote gender diversity and inclusion in the male-dominated Energy, Oil and Gas industry in line with the tenets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals providing a platform for the industry to tap into untapped reserves, bridging industry gaps and creating opportunities for women to step into leadership roles for the industry and national development.
