National Universities Commission Conducts Resource Visit to Federal College of Education, Okene
The National Universities Commission (NUC) today carried out a resource verification visit to the Federal College of Education, Okene, Kogi State, to evaluate the institution’s readiness to launch its degree‑awarding programme.
The visit underscores the college’s preparedness for the dual‑mode initiative, which will enable it to run both Degree and NCE programmes concurrently.
During the visit, NUC officials focused on aligning the college’s facilities, academic staff, and curriculum with the Commission’s quality assurance standards and guidelines. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the college, expanding academic opportunities for students and reinforcing its role in Nigeria’s higher education landscape.
The Federal College of Education, Okene, established in 1974 and affiliated with the University of Ibadan for its degree programmes, has been working toward this transition for several years . The successful verification paves the way for the commencement of degree programmes, enhancing the institution’s capacity to meet national educational goals.
