NCDMB Inspects Modibbo Adama University Centre of Excellence, Pays Courtesy Visit to Vice-Chancellor

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) today paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University Yola, Prof. Ibrahim Umar as part of an inspection exercise of the university’s Centre of Excellence established by the Board.

The delegation was led by Mr. Ene Ette of the Board’s Research and Development (R&D) directorate and Mr. Obinna Ozuji of the Quality Assurance (QA) unit. The visit forms part of the NCDMB’s Quality Assurance mandate to assess the current status, progress, and operational realities of its Centres of Excellence across Nigerian universities and institutions.

Receiving the team, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibrahim Umar charged the NCDMB delegation to ensure full and effective running of the Centre of Excellence project, stressing the importance of translating the Board’s investment into tangible outcomes for the university.

Professor Bashir Aliyu, Director of the Centre of Excellence at Modibbo Adama University, also addressed the delegation, highlighting the specific needs of the Centre and what is required from the NCDMB to bring it to full operational capacity.

The NCDMB had in a notice earlier directed CoE Directors and Contractors handling remodelling and upgrade works at the Centres to be present during the inspection, along with relevant Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and supporting project documents for verification and assessment purposes.

The visit was part of a wider inspection exercise that also covers the Centre of Excellence at the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA), reflecting the Board’s commitment to accountability and progress across its CoE investments in Nigerian universities.
