The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) continued its nationwide student loan sensitization drive with a visit to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, and Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, on Thursday. The event, held in collaboration with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), was aimed at encouraging students to apply for the student loan scheme.

Speaking at both institutions, NELFUND Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, stressed the importance of the program in helping students overcome financial obstacles to education. He urged South East institutions to submit student data promptly to ensure smooth loan disbursement, emphasizing that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration is committed to making education accessible to all Nigerians.

Sawyerr assured students that the loan scheme, which covers tuition fees and living expenses, would provide them with financial stability during their studies. He reiterated NELFUND's commitment to equitable distribution of loans across all regions, including the South East, to ensure no student is left behind.
