Nigerian Defence Academy Opens Application for 77th Regular Course Admission

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has commenced online applications for admission into its 77th Regular Course. The application period, which began on November 6, 2024, will close on April 30, 2025.

 

Eligibility and Requirements

 

Admission into the NDA is open to both male and female Nigerians. To be eligible, candidates must:

 

- Be medically and physically fit with good moral character

- Be single, without any legal obligation to support a child or dependents

- Present a Certificate of Indigeneship from the state or local government

- Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old by August 2025

- Have at least five O-level credits, including English and Mathematics, in GCE, WAEC, NECO, NBAIS, or NABTEB in not more than two sittings

- Have passed UTME and met the national standard set by JAMB

- Be at least 1.68 meters tall (male) or 1.65 meters tall (female)

- Knowledge of French, Arabic, or Mandarin is an added advantage

 

Application Process

Interested candidates are advised to go online and complete the application on the NDA website. The application fee is N7,000.00 only, payable via REMITA. Candidates must also apply to the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) and select NDA as their first choice institution.

 

Screening Test

 

The screening test will be conducted as phase one of the Post-UTME screening and is scheduled to hold on May 24, 2025. Only candidates who satisfied the admission requirements and have the required UTME score will be eligible to participate in the screening test.

 

Training and Benefits

 

Candidates admitted into the NDA for Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honors degree in a core discipline and a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria. The Federal Government of Nigeria will bear the cost of their administration and logistics.
