The Confucius Institute at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (CI NAU), Awka, has recorded groundbreaking success in the latest global HSK test, setting two new records in its history.

Chinese Testing International released the results on Friday, September 19, 2025 (Beijing Time), for the examination conducted on August 17, 2025.

This was the third HSK test of the year organized by CI NAU, with 106 candidates sitting for levels HSK3 to HSK5. The overall pass rate reached 84.9 percent, marking another significant milestone for the Institute.

HSK Level 3: Record-High Pass Rate
A total of 58 candidates sat for the HSK3 exam, and 54 passed, yielding a record 93.1 percent pass rate—the highest ever achieved in the Institute’s history. Three candidates scored a perfect 300/300. The test center’s average score was 256.62, far exceeding the global average of 230.91, which placed CI NAU 30th among 1,416 HSK test centers worldwide.

HSK Level 4: Steady Progress
Thirteen candidates sat for HSK4, with nine passing, representing a 69.2 percent pass rate. The top score was 290, while the test center’s average of 205.38 slightly surpassed the global average of 204.84, earning CI NAU the 65th position globally.

HSK Level 5: Global Ranking Breakthrough
For HSK5, 35 candidates participated and 27 passed, achieving a 77.1 percent pass rate. The highest score was 256, while the center’s average reached 206.26, far above the global average of 199.82. The Institute ranked 54th worldwide in HSK5 performance, setting a new record in its history.
