No plan to increase school fees, says FULafia Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has assured students that the institution has no plan to increase school fees.

The vice-chancellor dismissed the rumours making rounds that the University would soon increase students’ fees, describing the rumours as nothing but mere speculations.

He dismissed the rumours when the Students’ Union Government (SUG), led by its President, Comrade Ishaq Abubakar Ishaq, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Lafia.

Abdul Rahman urged the union’s officials to sensitise their colleagues on the policies of the University, particularly those relating to examination misconduct and the sanctions attached, stressing the need to safeguard the academic standards built by the institution over the years.

He encouraged the SUG to collaborate with the Directorate of Information and Public Relations as well as the Department of Mass Communication for effective information dissemination within the University community.

Earlier, Comrade Ishaq said that the visit made was to seek the vice-chancellor’s guidance and words of wisdom as the officials get set to steer the union’s administration. 

He commended the University’s Management for its support to students with special needs, pledging the union’s cooperation in upholding policies aimed at advancing the institution’s reputation.
