Northwest University, Kano 200-Level MBBS Student Passes Away

The academic community of Northwest University, Kano (now Yusuf Maitama Sule University), is in mourning following the untimely death of Abdurrahman Rabi’u Ishaq, a promising 200-level student in the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme.

The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, particularly among his colleagues in the 200-level MBBS class, who described him as a dedicated student and a dear brother.

In a somber announcement shared with the student body, peers and friends expressed deep grief, calling for prayers for the departed. The loss is felt deeply within the medical student community, where the rigours of the programme often forge close-knit bonds between classmates.

"May Allah (SWT) forgive him, have mercy on him, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus," the statement read. The community also prayed for sabr (patience and fortitude) for his family and the entire 200-level medical cohort as they navigate this difficult period.

The burial arrangements, in accordance with Islamic rites, are expected to be attended by students and staff members of the university.
