Northwest University Kano VC Delivers Convocation Invitation to Chancellor, Emir of Lafia, and Other Dignitaries
In preparation for its upcoming 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University Kano, Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, personally visited the newly appointed Chancellor of the university, His Highness, Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (Rtd), the Emir of Lafian Bare Bari, to deliver the official invitation.
The Vice-Chancellor, who deemed it necessary to present the invitation himself, expressed his delight at the warm reception he received at the Emir’s palace. During the visit, Prof. Kurawa formally handed over the convocation invitation to the royal father and reiterated his congratulations on the Emir’s appointment as Chancellor by the Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
In his response, the Emir of Lafian Bare Bari, His Highness, Hon. Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (Rtd), expressed deep appreciation for the Vice-Chancellor’s dedication and effort in traveling to Lafia to personally deliver the invitation. He assured Prof. Kurawa of his attendance at the convocation, stating, "By Allah’s grace, I will be present at the ceremony."
The meeting was marked by mutual respect and joy, with both leaders exchanging pleasantries and well-wishes. The occasion further strengthened the bond between the university and its newly appointed Chancellor, setting a positive tone for the forthcoming convocation.
During his trip, the Vice-Chancellor also seized the opportunity to deliver invitations to other prominent personalities in Abuja and its environs. The move shows the university’s commitment in encouraging strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring a successful convocation ceremony.
The 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony of Northwest University Kano is expected to be a landmark event, bringing together dignitaries, academics, and students to celebrate the institution’s achievements.
