NOUN Inaugurates Soro Community Study Centre in Bauchi State

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has launched a new Community Study Centre in Soro, Bauchi State, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to higher education in the region. The centre's inauguration was described by NOUN's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, as a "beacon of hope and opportunity" for the community.

The establishment of the centre was facilitated by Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, Member representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency, as part of his efforts to promote education in the constituency. The lawmaker had earlier established four Gifted Senior Secondary Schools and one Special Primary School in the area.

"The Soro Study Centre is more than just a building; it is a beacon of hope and opportunity, designed to empower the community through education. It embodies NOUN's commitment to knowledge and skill development, and the Centre will provide distance learning students with a supportive environment, equipped with modern facilities and essential resources necessary for their academic pursuits," Prof. Peters said.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by top NOUN officials, government representatives, and community leaders, highlighting the significance of this development in promoting education in Bauchi State.
