NSUK Advances Linguistic Scholarship with Two-Day Tonology Seminar-Workshop
The Department of Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), recently organized a two-day seminar-workshop on “Tonology – Linguistic Tones”, led by distinguished linguist Prof. Dr. Rose-Juliet Anyanwu-Wenzel.
The Department of Languages and Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), recently organized a two-day seminar-workshop on “Tonology – Linguistic Tones”, led by distinguished linguist Prof. Dr. Rose-Juliet Anyanwu-Wenzel.

Offered free of charge to the department’s academic staff, the workshop was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Tonology, a critical aspect of linguistic research. Prof. Anyanwu-Wenzel drew on her extensive expertise to guide attendees through tone perception, accurate transcription, and analytical methods, providing practical tools for teaching and supervising student research, dissertations, and theses.
Participants were awarded certificates of attendance, recognising their commitment to professional growth and academic excellence.
The seminar concluded with a ceremony of appreciation, during which the department presented Prof. Anyanwu-Wenzel with a commemorative plaque inscribed:
