NSUK Management Visits Emir of Keffi, Sets Stage for 25th Silver Jubilee Anniversary and Convocation Ceremony

In a significant move to strengthen town-and-gown relations ahead of a historic milestone, the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the Chancellor of the University and Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III.

The visit served as the formal commencement of preparations for the University’s Silver Jubilee (25th Anniversary) and the forthcoming Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, and climax on Saturday, 11 April 2026.

Professor Liman, while extending Ramadan Mubarak wishes to the Royal Father and members of his council, emphasized that the Silver Jubilee represents not merely a celebration of time but a commemoration of the transformative impact the University has had on national development over the past twenty-five years.

The Vice-Chancellor formally invited the Chancellor to lead the historic celebrations, which will highlight the institution’s remarkable journey from its inception to its present standing as a leading “Pacesetter” university.

Beyond the celebratory agenda, the Vice-Chancellor also used the occasion to advocate for institutional harmony. She presented the ongoing dispute involving some land speculators and the CRDP NSUK staff quarters and appealed for the Emir’s royal intervention to facilitate a peaceful and amicable resolution.

Responding, His Royal Highness Dr. Shehu Chindo Yamusa III commended the leadership of Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, describing her administration as a catalyst in strengthening the University’s reputation as a true citadel of learning. The Emir pledged his pledged his support for the success of the Silver Jubilee celebrations and assured the delegation of his readiness to mediate in resolving the CRDP quarters dispute.

Also speaking during the visit, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Maikano Muhammad Ari, expressed appreciation to the Royal Father for his continuous support for the University. He further thanked the Emir on behalf of university for conferring on the Vice-Chancellor the illustrious traditional title of “Jaruman Keffi,” noting that the visit also served as an opportunity to acknowledge the Chancellor’s enduring commitment to the advancement of academic excellence.

The visit concluded with special prayers for the continued prosperity of the Keffi Emirate and the sustained academic and infrastructural growth of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
