NUC Grants Full Accreditation to 11 Programmes at FUBK
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited 11 academic programmes for the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), following the October/November 2025 accreditation exercise conducted by the commission.
The development is contained in a statement by the institution’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Mr Jamilu Magaji, issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.
Mr Magaji said the accreditation followed the October/November 2025 exercise conducted by the commission.
He added that the outcome was conveyed in a letter dated April 7, 2026, and signed by the NUC Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, on behalf of the Executive Secretary.
According to him, the accredited programmes cover undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Masters in Accounting and M.Sc. Accounting and Finance.
Others are Accounting, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics with Electronics, and Geography, all of which received full accreditation.
Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan-Umar, expressed delight over the outcome, noting that the accreditation reaffirms FUBK’s growing academic reputation and dedication to excellence.
“This success is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our academic and administrative staff, the support of the University’s Governing Council, and the commitment of our staff and students.
“We remain focused on building a strong and reputable university that meets global standards,” he said.
