NUC okays take off of Niger University of Education
The National University Commission, NUC, has approved full take-off of activities for 2023/2024 academic session in the newly established Niger State University of Education.

The varsity is named after late former Governor Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure.
The Commission also approved the commencement of activities in the institution with 41 academic programmes.
Chairman of the University implementation committee, Prof Mohammed Kuta Yahaya, disclosed this during a press briefing in Minna while revealing the result of the resource assessment visit by the NUC.
“In a letter NUC/ AP/ S63/ vol,1/01 the panel of expert which asses the human and material resources approved the establishment of the full time mode of undergraduate programme.

“The University was approved on 28th September, 2023 as the 63rd State owned University and 270th licensed Nigerian University.
” The inauguration of the implementation committee by Mr. Governor is historic and worthy of commendation, these actions explicitly show the vision and commitment of the present administration to education development, ” he stated.
He also explained that the committee took a stance in making sure that the university takes off by ensuring that it is listed on the 2024/ 2025 academic brochure of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, JAMB.
