In a demonstration of responsibility and commitment to institutional goals, the Department of Nursing Sciences at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) formally presented a refurbished Coaster Bus to University Management on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

The bus, originally provided by Vice-Chancellor Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha following a successful accreditation exercise, was tasked to the department for rehabilitation and deployment. The presentation marks the successful completion of that mandate, highlighting the department’s dedication to operational excellence and problem-solving.

Leading the handover, Head of Department Dr. Ada Ibekwe, acknowledged the collaborative effort of staff and a supportive parent, whose contribution ensured the vehicle was restored to full functionality, safety, and roadworthiness.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Omenugha praised the department’s initiative, noting that the action exemplifies institutional responsibility, strategic execution, and the ability to overcome operational challenges. In a light-hearted moment, she expressed her delight with the outcome and humorously hinted at assigning additional responsibilities to the department.
