In a demonstration of responsibility and commitment to institutional goals, the Department of Nursing Sciences at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) formally presented a refurbished Coaster Bus to University Management on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

The bus, originally provided by Vice-Chancellor Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha following a successful accreditation exercise, was tasked to the department for rehabilitation and deployment. The presentation marks the successful completion of that mandate, highlighting the department’s dedication to operational excellence and problem-solving.
Leading the handover, Head of Department Dr. Ada Ibekwe, acknowledged the collaborative effort of staff and a supportive parent, whose contribution ensured the vehicle was restored to full functionality, safety, and roadworthiness.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Omenugha praised the department’s initiative, noting that the action exemplifies institutional responsibility, strategic execution, and the ability to overcome operational challenges. In a light-hearted moment, she expressed her delight with the outcome and humorously hinted at assigning additional responsibilities to the department.

The gesture reinforces COOU’s culture of accountability, collaboration, and alignment with the Vice-Chancellor’s 3Vs trajectory—Values, Viability, and Visibility—across all departments.
