OAU Names Prof. Lawson Olabosipo Adekoya Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering
The Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has formally approved the elevation of Professor Lawson Olabosipo Adekoya to the prestigious rank of Emeritus Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The appointment, which takes effect immediately, was announced by the Head of the Department, Dr. Adam Olatunji Muritala, who described the honour as a fitting tribute to a career defined by "excellence and service."

Professor Adekoya, who retired from the university in 2019, is widely regarded as a pillar of the Faculty of Technology. His tenure was marked by high-impact scholarship and strategic administrative leadership, including:
