From the Classroom to the Farm: How Adekunle Sodiq is Rebranding Agriculture at Federal Polytechnic Offa

The narrative of agriculture in Nigeria is undergoing a radical shift, and at the forefront of this movement is Adekunle Sodiq O., a standout graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Offa.

Sodiq recently concluded his National Diploma (ND) in Agricultural Technology with a formidable CGPA of 3.55/4.00, including a near-perfect final semester GPA of 3.81. However, it is his entrepreneurial grit and leadership that have made him a viral inspiration within the "Fedpoffa" community.

The "Student-Painter" Scholar

Sodiq’s journey was defined by a relentless work ethic. To fund his education and navigate the academic pressures of the School of Science and Technology, he balanced his studies with professional painting jobs. Despite the lack of modern farming tools and the rigours of practical field sessions, he maintained a top-tier academic standing while serving as the Vice President of the School of Science and Technology.

Founding AdeAgroHub: Digitalizing the Soil

Refusing to view agriculture as a "subsistence" venture, Sodiq founded AdeAgroHub, a digital platform dedicated to Smart Farming. His mission is to transition traditional farming into a data-driven agribusiness. Through AdeAgroHub, he has already begun:

Organizing specialized online masterclasses on tomato and cucumber cultivation.

Sodiq’s story is a powerful rebuttal to the stereotype that agriculture is for the uneducated. By merging leadership, entrepreneurship, and technical expertise, he is building a framework to train thousands of young Nigerians in modern agribusiness techniques.

"Agriculture is not old school; it is innovation and nation-building," Sodiq’s journey suggests, serving as a call to action for students across Nigeria to master their fields and create tangible impact.
