Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny Approves Two-Year Duration for Part-Time ND and HND Programmes

The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, has approved a major redesign of its curriculum and lecture timetable for part-time studies, reducing the duration of its National Diploma, ND, and Higher National Diploma, HND, part-time programmes from three years to two years effective from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The decision was reached at the institution’s most recent Academic Board meeting held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, where members resolved to shorten the duration of courses in the part-time programme in line with the Polytechnic’s commitment to improving academic delivery and enhancing access to quality technical education. Under the new arrangement, lectures for part-time students will be conducted on an intensive schedule from Monday to Saturday.
