This finding was revealed during a financial report given by the Union’s Financial Secretary, Damilare Fasina, at a recent plenary session.

Further claims disclosed that Olalekan received an extra N1.2 million from the heads of various Halls of Residence within the university. The SRC stated that these transactions were executed without following proper procedures, leading to the diversion of funds, mishandling of union finances, and misuse of power.

During a discussion session filled with compelling evidence, sources within the parliament reported that Olalekan opted to exit the parliamentary meeting instead of defending himself against the charges. His absence and failure to respond to the allegations resulted in his impeachment, which the SRC deemed necessary due to severe misconduct as stipulated in Section 68 of the Union Constitution.

Following the impeachment, the SRC promptly elected Tunde Adedipe Tosin as the Acting Speaker. In addition, Babalola Micheal Olajide was chosen as the Acting Deputy Speaker, and Abdulkabir Luqman was appointed as the Acting Clerk of the House.
