The Governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa has reacted to the industrial strike actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU, according to the tweet spotted by myschoolnews, the 2023 vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen Ifeanyi Okowa shared;

Our young people are the primary focus of our educational system, therefore, we must end these frequent strikes. It is not only affecting the lives of our students and their families, it significantly slows down the development of our nation.

8-months ago, nobody would have thought that what started as a warning strike would have dragged on for this long.

From Day 1, the Atiku-Okowa administration will be deliberate about reforming our education sector. We will involve all stakeholders to embark on an urgent assessment and reform of the sector to ensure better standards and efficient administrative methods.
