In a bid to raise public awareness on the need for collaborative efforts to ensure community safety and effective policing, Plan International Nigeria, in collaboration with the Department of Crime Management at Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, recently organized a two-day event focused on crime prevention and control.
The event featured presentations from key stakeholders, including Bauchi State's Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Barrister Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu, who highlighted the state's significant strides in addressing security challenges. Moses Nyam of Plan International emphasized the importance of mental health, particularly within the school system, and provided practical self-care tips for managing stress and maintaining good mental health.
Additionally, Bauchi State's Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, delivered a comprehensive presentation on "Intelligence-Led Policing: The Role of Citizens in Crime Prevention and Control," highlighting the critical importance of intelligence-led policing and the vital role citizens play in intelligence gathering.
The event emphasized the collective responsibility of ensuring community safety and security, with dignitaries from various security agencies and government ministries in attendance. Plan International Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the safety and well-being of children, girls, and young people.
