Three police officers have been arrested in connection with the killing of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Isola, a Kwara State Polytechnic student.

On Monday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumiyiwa Adejobi, announced the arrest of three police officers implicated in the death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Isola, a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. 

The officers, identified as Inspector Abiodun Kayode, Inspector James Emmanuel, and Sergeant Oni Philip, who were all attached to the Department of Operations at the Kwara State Command, have been detained pending further investigation.

The tragic incident occurred on September 4, 2024, in the Fate Area of Ilorin, where Abdulyekeen, a National Diploma 2 student in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, was reportedly killed under mysterious circumstances.

ACP Adejobi conveyed that the Inspector-General of Police expressed deep sorrow over the loss, emphasizing that the incident has profoundly affected the police force and the community. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances leading to the student's death and ensure justice is served.
