“Postgraduate and SCE Students to Start Benefiting from NELFUND; All Student Issues Will Be Resolved” — Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr Assures SUG President

The Students’ Union Government (SUG), Bayero University Kano (BUK), yesterday held an engagement with the management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) during its official visit to the University.

The meeting focused on key issues affecting BUK students, particularly concerning disbursement, eligibility, welfare support, and pending student concerns under the NELFUND scheme.During the engagement, the Managing Director of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, assured the SUG President that all outstanding student issues would be fully resolved, while also announcing major updates that will directly benefit BUK students.

NELFUND has announced the expansion of its loan scheme to include postgraduate and School of Continuing Education (SCE) students with valid JAMB numbers, following a meeting with the Bayero University Kano (BUK) SUG. Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, Managing Director of NELFUND, assured that outstanding upkeep allowances for December, February, and March will be disbursed and confirmed that repayment will not begin until two years post-graduation
