Prince Abubakar Audu University Appoints Award-Winning Virologist, Dr. Bello Kizito Eneye, as Director of Central Research Laboratory

Bello Kizito Eneye who hails from Kogi Central Senatorial District of Kogi State is a Nigerian academic and researcher specializing in virology, immunology, and molecular biology, with a focus on infectious diseases, public health, and related fields.

Eneye who holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in virology and immunology has now been appointed as the Director, Central Research Laboratory at Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba. 

His work includes research on viruses like Chikungunya, Dengue, hepatitis B, and other emerging/tropical infectious diseases, as well as topics like the human microbiome and circular RNAs in virus-related conditions.

His research has been cited over 374 times (per Google Scholar), and he has contributed to publications in areas like serological surveys of viruses in Nigeria and epidemiological reviews in East Africa. He has also been involved in award-winning work, including a team that won the FAO/UN Global One Health Special Prize in 2024.
